About

Anti-Violence Committee of the Triad serves the Piedmont Triad area of North Carolina, and we’re based in Greensboro. The Anti-Violence Committee of the Triad was developed from the outgrowth of needs in the Triad. Cynthia Deal D’Agostino started “Recycle the Old for the New to Come” slogan, to give the needy at various drop off places in 1997. We grew independent and were granted a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit tax-exempt status January 2000. Cynthia is the founder and director of the committee.

She has always been an active volunteer with many organizations and boards. She has been recognized and honored in the media for services to the community such as advocate for the uproots and displaced people, peer counselor, Family and Children’s Services-Task Force to Reduce Violence on legal law, safety committee, a victim advocate. She was appointed by the Office of Governmental Affairs (to speak on high priority issue at the White House), in the Justice in Politics Forums.. Ambassador for the LIRS. This is ongoing.

Our mission is to serve and promote the empowerment of each individual.

Company Overview

The Anti-Violence Committee of the Triad was developed from the outgrowth of other organizations in 1997. Our simple purpose is as promoters and educators of the means that an individual can power themselves. As such, we achieve these aims through:

– Promoting empowerment in the community – in schools, churches, and other public venues.

– Acting as advocates in all areas to help strengthen people through prevention. knowledge, and education.

– Acting as a support network for other non-profit organizations.

– Embarking on specific projects to promote a cause. e.g. homelessness.

Our slogan is “Peace Prevails“. The dictionary meaning of `Prevails` is to win control, triumph, to be in force, be persistent, effective, succeed, frequent and be in force.

Provides anti-violence programs to serve and promote the empowerment of each individual; advocates for prevention, knowledge, and education; has on-going service projects; offers certificates for time and achievement. Provides educational programming to the community and other public venues the problem of violence in its widest context. Program also works with homelessness projects and in aged-out foster care individuals.
